The National Service Scheme (NSS) was introduced in the stream of higher education in the year 1969-70, the birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi. The main aim of NSS is to provide opportunities to the students to acquire valuable practical experience through service to society. It changes the temperament of students towards humanity. First year undergraduate graduate students are eligible to join NSS. After completing two years volunteership and seven days special camp (residential camp) are entitled to get NSS certificate , grace mark in the university examination and 5% grace marks for higher studies. The primary objective of NSS is personality development through community service. Community activities such as construction of village roads, imparting education, various awareness programs, blood donation camp, agriculture activities, etc. are taken up by the NSS volunteers. We have two NSS units in the college, unit no 14 and 15 Kannur University. In the academic year 2022-23 two NSS volunteers got selection for national camp organized by the ministry of youth affairs, Government of India.
