Various Scholarships( For UG/PG Courses )

The Central and State Government offer various scholarships for talented and financially backward students. Brief descriptions of scholarships are given below: Please visit official website of collegiate education www.dcescholarship.kerala.gov.in for details. Since the scholarships are distributed through the banks, students are requested to open savings bank accounts which are linked with Aadhar in a nationalized, scheduled or commercial banks with IFSC code. The attested copy of the same should be submitted with the application. A student can apply for any number of scholarships but if selected the student can avail only one scholarship at a time that ensures maximum amount.

E-Grantz

The SC/ST department offers fee concession to students studying in plus two, degree, post graduation courses belonging to OBC, KPCR with annual income below 1 lakh. There is no income limit for SC/ST, OEC students for receiving fee concession. The students should apply online for the E-grantz from the Akshaya Centres (www.egrantz.kerala.gov.in) and the copy of the same along with income certificate, community certificate, copy of the savings bank passbook and Aadhaar card should be submitted to the head of the institution. SC/ST/ OEC/OBC (H) Students who stay in hostels will be granted hostel charges. The SC/ST/OEC/OBC (H) Students will be granted course fee LSG & Stipend. LSG Degree Rs. 1400/-, PG Rs. 1,900/-, Stipent > 8km Rs. 900/-, < 8km Rs. 800.

Higher Education Scholarship

Every year Kerala State Higher Education council offers scholarships for 1000 talented students studying in I year degree in Govt. or Aided colleges. Selected students will receive Rs. 1,54,000 within 5 years from the Ist year degree programme till completing Post Graduation. Applications are invited in the month of Nov-Dec. Central Sector Scholarship Under the ministry of Human Resource Development the Central Government offers scholarships for students who scored above 80% marks in plus two exams. The applications are invited in July-Aug. The first year degree students with annual income below 6 lakh are eligible to apply. For details visit www.scholarships.gov.in. Scholarship amount. Degree: Rs. 12,000/year, PG: Rs. 20,000/year

Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship

The application for Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship will be invited in Nov- Dec. This is offered by Govt. of Kerala for the BPL students studying in first year UG/PG courses in Govt. and aided colleges. Students with 50% marks are eligible to apply. C H Muhammed Koya Muslim Girls Scholarship

The State Government of Kerala offers C H Muhammed Koya Muslim Girls Scholarship for the first year degree, PG students and also the students admitted to self financing professional colleges under merit quota. This is for female students belonging to Muslim, Latin, and converted Christians with annual income below 8 lakhs. Students who scored above 50%marks in the qualifying exam are eligible to apply. Degree : Rs. 5,000/year; PG: Rs. 6,000/year, Hosteller: Rs. 13000/year.

Post Matric Scholarship

This scholarship is offered by the central government, Ministry of Minority Welfare, for Muslim, Christian students studying degree, PG, M.Phil, Ph.D courses. The applications will be invited in July–August. Students with the annual income below 2 lakhs and having marks above 50% are eligible to apply. For details please visit www.scholarships.gov.in. Fisheries Scholarships

This scholarship is offered by the Fisheries Department of Kerala for the registered children of fishermen. The degree students will be granted an amount of course fee. LSG Degree: Rs. 1400/-, PG Rs. 1900/-. Stipend > 8 km: Rs. 900/-, <8 km Rs. 800/- apart from the course fee. The application should be submitted online from Akshaya, www.e-grantzfisheries.kerala.gov.in. Students who stay in the hostel will be granted hostel charge, mess dues. etc.

Snehapoorvam Scholarship

This scholarship is offered by the Social Welfare Department of Kerala for the students who do not have mother, father or both and whose guardians are not able to protect them due to ill health or financial reasons. The applications should be submitted to the head of the institution. After the necessary verification the same will be uploaded in www.ikm.in/kssm.

Scholarship amount Rs. 10,000/- per year.

BLIND/PH Scholarship

The application for fee concession and free hostel stay for blind, deaf and physically challenged students will be invited in Nov-Dec. The scholarship is offered by the State Government of Kerala. For details visit www.dcescholarship.kerala.gov.in. Students who stay in hostels will be granted hostel charges, mess dues etc. Scholarship amount Rs. 4000/- + Fees.

Indira Gandhi Single Girl Child Scholarship

The applications for the Single Girl Child scholarship offered by the U.G.C will be invited in Nov-Dec. This scholarship is offered for the single girl child in a family studying in P.G. programmes. For details visit www.scholarships.gov.in. Amount Rs. 36,200/- per year.

P.G. Merit Scholarship

The application for P.G. Merit Scholarship will be invited in July-Aug. This scholarship is offered for the first and second rank holders and for the students who secure top grade points in the universities.

State Merit Scholarship (SMS)

Eligibility: Applicant should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying exam and should be a first year student of UG or PG. Annual income of the parents/guardian from all sources should not exceed Rs. 1 lakh. Scholarship Amount: For UG Rs. 1250 per annum for 3 years. For PG Rs. 1500 per annum for 2 years. Hindi Scholarship (HS)

Eligibility: Hindi must be one of the subjects in the present studying course. Only I year students are eligible for applying for the scholarship. Scholarship Amount: For UG Rs. 500 per month for 3 years;

District Merit Scholarship (DMS)

Eligibility: Continued from +2 level up to UG level. Should have scored A Plus in all subjects in the SSLC Examination March 2018, conducted by Board of Public Examinations, Kerala State. Scholarship amount: Rs. 1250 per annum for 3 years. Website: www.dcescholarship.kerala.gov.in

ASPIRE Scholarship for PG/M.Phil/Ph.D Programmes

Eligibility: Meritorious students of the University Departments/Colleges under the University of Kerala for pursuing short term internships/projects in institutions other than their parent Colleges/University Departments.

Award: Rs.8000/- p.m, for internship/ project undertaken within the state and Rs.10,000/- for internship/ project undertaken outside the state. The Scholarship will be provided for a minimum period of one month for P.G. Course and a maximum period of 4 months for M.Phil and Ph.D courses (at a single stretch or in 2 phases) depending upon the proposal. Website: www.dcescholarship.kerala.gov.in

Prof. Joseph Mundassery Scholarship (PJMS)

Eligibility: Meritorious students of Muslim, Cristain, Sikkh, Buddah, Parsis, Jains community who are studying in BA/BSc/B.Com in Arts/science colleges. Award: Rs. 15000/- each given to outgoing students, scores 80% in UG final year examination and 75% in PG final year examination. Website: www.minoritywelfare.kerala.gov.in.

Chief Minister (CM) Merit Scholarship

This is a scholarship of Rs. 1 lakh each to meritorious undergraduate students who are economically backward. This scheme is coming under Chief Minister's ten items programmes. Website: www.dcescholarship.kerala.gov.in

Vidyasamunnathi Scholarship

The UG & PG students of economically backward forward communities will get educational scholarships and competitive assistance for their studies. Award: Scholarship will be given to Undergraduate (Rs. 5000/- per year & post graduate students (Rs. 6000/- per year) Can apply as fresh in all academic years. No renewals. Kerala State Backward Classes Development Corporation (KSBCDC) Scholarship

The economically backward OBC students will get educational scholarships and competitive assistance for their studies. Annual income of the parents/ guardian from all sources should not exceed Rs. 1,20,000/-. Scholarship amount: Rs. 5000/- per year to Undergraduate & postgraduate level for 3 years and 2 years respectively. Website: www.ksbcdc.com

PRATHIBHA Scholarship (KSCSTE, Govt. of Kerala)

Eligibility: The scholarship offered to meritorious BSc students of Botany, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and Zoology; should have qualified Higher Secondary Board Examination with minimum 90% marks or equivalent grade for all subjects put together and minimum 90% marks or equivalent grade for all Science subjects put together. (For SC/ST reservation category, the eligibility is stipulated to minimum marks of 80% or equivalent grade for all subjects in total and minimum 80% marks or equivalent grade for all Science subjects in total. The objective of the programme is to motivate bright students to Higher studies in Basic and Natural Sciences by awarding them Scholarships. Prathibha Scholars are also provided opportunities to attend Science orientation programmes in reputed research laboratories in the state so as to introduce themselves to cutting edge areas of research and interact with pioneers in Science. The selected students are initially eligible for scholarship for 3-year U.G. programme. The scholarship could be continued for 2-year P.G. / 4 th & 5 th years of Integrated P.G./ 1 st and 2 nd years of Integrated Ph.D. subject to the guidelines of the scheme. INSPIRE Scholarship (DST, Govt. of India)

The scholarship offered to pursue undergraduate (UG) studies and continued up to postgraduate (PG) studies, is based on Class 12th standard examination results (top 1%) of respective Boards or within eligible rank in chosen few competitive examinations such as JEE (main), JEE (advanced), NEET (AIPMT) and securing admission in science stream (in any of science course or its combination out of 18 identified subjects) at any recognized colleges or universities or academic institutions in the country. Post Matric Scholarships for Students with Disabilities (PMSD)

Eligibility: The Scholarships are to provide financial assistance to the parents of students with disabilities for studying in post-matric level. The financial assistance includes scholarship, book grant, escort/reader allowance, etc. Selection of the beneficiaries under these two scholarship schemes is on the basis of merit.
