The Department of Forestry was established in the year 1999 offering B.Sc. Forestry programme, and every year twenty nine (24 + 5 marginal increase) students are admitted. The syllabus is mainly based on various aspects of forestry and wood technology such as silviculture, forest ecology, forest protection, forest management, forest economics, forest mensuration, wildlife, wood preservation, wood degradation, wood physics etc. The success rate of students in the University Examination is more than 85% every year. Earlier the department was offering B.Sc. Forestry and Wood Technology programme. However, from 2014 admission onwards, the course name was changed to BSc Forestry. The syllabus was also revised in 2013 and later in 2019 for the inclusion of advanced subjects and field works related to forestry.
