PG & Research Department of Commerce, Sir Syed College, established in 1967, is one of the prominent departments in the college, that provides B.Com and M.Com courses, and research degree (PhD) in commerce under Kannur University. The department stands unique in the way it organizes various academic and co- scholastic programmes that are meant for developing enterprising skills of its aspirants every year.

Sir Syed's commerce department is one of the best choice for several hundreds of students after the completion of their higher secondary education from around Kannur District, not just for pursuing a degree in commerce, but also for getting empowered with a number of soft and other skills that can make them a global citizen. The department organizes a number of programmes, including  academic seminars, symposium, experts' talk,  invited lecture, management fest, entrepreneurial development programs, industry linkage activities and so on, with a view to enhance its students' knowledge, skills, talents, and leadership qualities to make them better employable, and to make them better adapted to the changing business environment.
