Weather Station

Weather Station

Weather station funded by DST-FIST programme is functioning in the college. It is a vital facility that is typically equipped with various meteorological instruments and technology to monitor and record weather conditions in the local area. It serves several important purposes for both educational and practical applications. The weather station collects real-time data on temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction, precipitation, and other meteorological parameters. This data is invaluable for scientific research and educational purposes. The weather station provides an excellent learning opportunity for students studying meteorology, environmental science, geography, and related disciplines. It allows them to gain hands-on experience in weather monitoring and analysis. Meteorologists, climatologists, and other researchers can utilize the data collected by the weather station to conduct local climate studies, analyze weather patterns, and contribute to broader scientific understanding. While a college weather station may not be as comprehensive as those operated by national meteorological agencies, it can still offer valuable local weather information. This can be used for campus planning, event scheduling, and general awareness. The data collected by the weather station can be shared with the local community, providing them with up-to-date weather information and fostering a sense of connection between the college and the surrounding area. a weather station in a college serves as a practical tool for weather monitoring, an educational resource for students, a platform for research, and a source of valuable information for both the college and the broader community. The station is maintained and managed by Department of Physics.
