Sparsham Palliative Care

The WHO in 2002 defined palliative care as an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problems associated with life threatening illness through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of early identification and impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial and spiritual. 'Sparsham' palliative care unit at Sir Syed College started in the academic year 2017-18 to help patients to cope with pain and get back to focusing on what matters most to them, spending time with loved ones.
