During the observance of Wildlife Week, the Department of Forestry at Sir Syed College organized an insightful session titled 'Battling Nipah.' This session was designed to educate students about the Nipah disease and the crucial role that bats play in its transmission. The event took place on October 3, 2023, at 10:00 AM in the College Seminar Hall. The function was presided over by Mrs. Sneha C, the Head of the Department of Forestry. The felicitations were given by Haritha M and Azhar Ali A, esteemed faculty members of the department. The highlight of the event was a presentation by Mr. Nithin Divakar, a PhD scholar and a prominent Bat researcher who expertly handled the session. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students belonging to various departments within the college, as well as members of the Forestry Club. It was an informative and engaging session that shed light on the vital connection between bats and the spread of Nipah disease.
