Research

About the Center

The Department of Chemistry was established in 1967. The Chemistry Post Graduate course was started in 2001. A Research Centre in Chemistry was established in the College in 2008, with a view to promote research interests, both among the students and the teachers of the Department. Currently the Department offers Under-Graduate courses, Post- Graduate courses and research programmes. The Department is an approved research centre for Chemistry under Kannur University. The Research Department is engaged in active research and conducts various research activities in the fields of computational chemistry, synthetic organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry. so far 9 Scholars from the department have been awarded PhD under different Supervisors. The department has eight faculty members, out of whom 3 are research guides.

A magnetic stirrer is a commonly used laboratory instrument designed for stirring liquids in various research and scientific applications. It consists of a flat or cylindrical platform containing a magnetic stir bar, typically made of Teflon-coated magnet
